What if…

Image
What if… What if she/he never comes back? What if…. "Does that change the sovereignty of me, God Almighty?" "Does that change that I Am the Great I Am?" "Does that change that I am still on the throne?" What if the circumstances don’t change? "Does that change Who I AM?" "Does that change the Promises I have made?" "Does that change My Love for you?" What about the glimpse of hope that the circumstances are changing? "Circumstances change with the wind, but I remain the same." "Is your hope in Me? Or in the circumstance?" “Or in the outcome?” “…when the test says no baby.” "Keep your eyes on Me." “…when the diagnosis is cancer.” "Keep your eyes on Me." “…when the waiting is too much.” "Keep your eyes on Me." “…when the betrayal knocks you on your face.” "Keep your eyes on Me." I know I've written posts like this...

The Waiting Room

“Ugh! I need the doctor to call back ASAP” And there it was…. that still small voice… “But do you trust Me more than the doctor?” Whoa. It has been a rough week for many reasons. One of those reasons was some tests the doctors were doing on my dad. To say it has been a little unnerving would be putting it mildly. While waiting on more details from the doctor. I text a friend the opening (above) text. Then my faith was slapped into check. “But do you trust Me more than the doctor?” resonated with my soul and brought me to tears at my desk. I could not process the worry anymore for I was having a crisis of faith right there on my planning period in my classroom. Oh modern medicine, how complex you are when it comes to faith. I believe that God has given us the tools and knowledge to use modern medicine, but our trust must remain in Him.  “Of course God’s got this” I thought “Of course God is bigger than anything…     even…...

Thirty Two Journeys

Image
Every year I write a New Year's and/or birthday blog. This year is no different, except that 2016 & 31 go together and it is a bit late. So, here goes... I've been reading a lot of original and shared posts about 2016 being a terrible year and people feeling accosted by the year. 2016 was an eventful year for sure---when looking on a global, national, and spiritual scale. But to say it was the worst personally, I just can't. I can't look back be ungrateful or sad about what this year has been. Without all of the tragedy, I cannot appreciate the beauty. I cannot appreciate the growth in society or in myself without tragedy. I know this maybe sound odd, but 2016 was a year of growth. It was a year where I learned to choose me, and not in a selfish manner.  In 2016, at the age of 31... ...I ended a relationship and said to my friends "I feel like I just said no to getting married and having children." But, what I said no to was settling. What I...

My Heart is Black and Blue

Image
What started out as a ramble of my heart a week ago has come to fruition through tears and a broken heart.  Ramble: The past few weeks have been a national, state, city, and personal nightmare. We have seen our version of a civil war and lives have been lost. I physically ache for each person. I physically ache for my dear friends who are cops. I physically ache for unjustified killings. I physically ache for the racism in this country. Rob Flaherty tweeted: “There’s no sides here. Cops protecting peaceful protestors. Black men unjustly killed. Your heart can break for both.” Come, Jesus, Come. And because our offenses are so high these days, I know that some will be offended by this and totally miss the point. And my heart aches for that.   The Point: The above has been sitting on my computer screen for a week. Now, with my heart in pieces all over again, I am sitting here and trying to find the words that explain my heart. If my heart ...
