Fab Faith Fix

Image
So, I just clicked “view blog” on my dashboard and saw that my last post was June 24th, for this, my handful of readers, I do apologize. I realize that I have deprived you for almost a month from your Fab Faith Fix ! Yes, that’s what we shall now call this blog, as if Oscar coined it himself…your Fab Faith Fix ! Love it! I know you are on the edge of your seat with anticipation of what awaits your reading eyes! This past month has been nothing less than this crazy beautiful life that God has blessed me with! In the midst of car wrecks, cars breaking down, medical tests, carpooling, being told I had the magic and I could press a certain doctor’s buttons anytime, definitely making cupcake day a must in my life, and seeing The Proposal 3 times, there’s still a peace in my soul, THANK the Good Lord or else you would no longer ever be able to get your Fab Faith Fix for I would be in a padded cell! =) During these past weeks when I have failed you miserably as my “followers” I have decided t...

*Not Guilty*

I know this doesn't count as a post...I promise I am currently working on one...however my sister shared this song with me and its one of those songs that has lyrics that are so humbling and beautiful that I just have to share!! I hope it speaks to you....Lord, knows I cried!! I am posting the lyrics below the link to the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7fokl9riJ0 Mandisa - Not Guilty I stand accused There’s a list a mile long Of all my sinsOf everything that I’ve done wrongI’m so ashamed There’s nowhere left for me to hide This is the day I must answer for my life My fate is in the Judge’s hands But then He turns to me and says I know you I love you I gave My life to save you Love paid the price for mercy My verdict not guilty How can it be? I can’t begin to comprehend What kind of grace Would take the place of all my sin? I stand in awe Now that I have been set free And the tears well up as I look at that cross Cause it should have been me My fate was in the nail scarred ha...

Daily Adventures

Image
There's nothing "special" about this post. There's no grand story of Oscar or life lesson not even redneck drama. (I know you are all so sad and probably wondering if you will even continue reading.) I debated writing a blog like this because I feel like a complete narcisist. The blogs I follow are mostly of people with husbands and children and I have neither....yet anyways. So, sometimes I struggle with blogging period things that happen to me, but today I am doing it!! I'm taking the plunge, at the risk of looking like a complete narcisist, and blogging about the past couple of weeks COMPLETE with pictures of these marvelous daily adventures! (I promise to keep it as short as I can!!) Along came the BUMP: I'm sitting at work one day, and I am sure I was diligently looking at facebook when a co-worker walked in and said "Ladies, I have a prize!!" I though "YES! Free Chocolate today!!" but oh no, the prize was something MUCH more entertai...

Dinner & Drama

Image
It was a Friday evening. The sun was casting the most glorious glow across the city. HA! Who am I kidding?!?! Friday night Heath and I went to dinner at the Peking Restaurant on Jackson Street. Lovely, place. I personally enjoyed their music taste. I mean anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Celine Dion so when “My Heart Will Go On” was being belted from the speakers, I had to restrain myself from singing along. However, when Celine Dion is followed by Christmas Music….in June, I know that I have found a new place to call home! The restaurant is buffet which is usually not my favorite but this night I was super glad with my suggestion to go there. We are sitting have a delightful conversation about the goings and comings of life when out the window I notice some major high school-esque drama taking place. Immediately, Heath and I are intrigued and glued to the window like vulchers. (Shameful, I know!!) There’s a girl outside ranting and raving complete with arm and neck motions (you k...

Fabulous Affirming Day in NOLA

Image
"I have found adventure in flying, in world travel, in business, and even close at hand... Adventure is a state of mind - and spirit." Jacqueline Cochran Today I went to New Orleans on a “Joan of Arc” mission. Actually, I was just bringing him for a check up after his surgery. Our day started with a trip to Harlow’s Donuts, of course. Drew, my “Joan of Arc” mission, and I always have the best experiences together. So, when the little old man who was pushing 80 at a mere 5’1” called Drew “a little boy” while the man proceeds to flirt with the donut cashier, we knew this day held many adventures. Boy, were we right!! The drive down there was pretty mild, filled with wonderful conversation. The fun really began when we enter New Orleans and got behind a school bus full of children who were around the age of 9 or 10. One of them looked at me made his forefinger and thumb like a gun and pretended to shoot me then took the same hand and made a very lewd gesture. I was appalled ...

And The Thunder Rolls....

I came home from work today still fighting a headache. There was a thunderstorm brewing outside and the house was quiet. I took the opportunity to crawl into bed with Alex, my dog, and flipped on the TV. Of course, there was nothing that interesting on and I had seen the NCIS that was playing about five times. I flipped the TV off. I allowed myself to just listen to the outside. I heard the rain’s melody as it sloshed in the puddles outside my window. I listened to the quiet harmony the trees chimed as they bowed with the wind and as the thunder let out its bass of beat, I smiled. Nature was indeed singing its praise to Him. I listened intently for a while and soon my head started to feel better, as if the chorus outside had washed my headache away. However, my dear friends, who dare to click on any of my blogs, ranting, or whatever you call these, we all know that my thoughts went away with me. Each boom of thunder and every flash of lightning caused Zorro, “the other dog”, to start b...

Crazy Lady Driving

So, this morning I am driving down 28 along with everyone else and their momma. I am listening to Allison from American Idol jam to Janis Joplin's "Cry Baby", which is amazing by the way. So, I am minding my own business driving when out of know where a quarter sized, yellowish brown spider obstructs my view. I say "Um, hello?". I then think "Ok, I can't have this spider in my car all day where it can lay eggs or come back with friends?!?! What to do??" Mind you the spider is running back and forth my windshield. I take my foot the gas and get my flip flop (its casual Friday). SO, with my left hand on the steering wheel, I take my shoe and start chasing the spider across my windshield trying to kill it...I hit my windshield like three times before I finally killed the little demon!!! "Gross!! Now there's spider guts on my windshield!" BUT at least I killed him. However now I start laughing because there's a truck next to me that i...
